Editorial Policy

FurStage publishes practical pet name, age and life-stage tools. This policy explains how we choose sources, review health-adjacent copy and correct mistakes.

Source hierarchy

For care and age guidance we prefer veterinary associations, peer-reviewed studies, university resources and established breed or feline/canine organizations. Marketing claims and forum anecdotes do not outrank those sources.

  • Veterinary and animal-health organizations first.
  • Primary studies or university explainers when formulas need context.
  • Curated internal data only for names, styles and navigation.

Review cadence

Health-adjacent calculators, life-stage pages and reference guides are checked during major product updates and at least quarterly while the site is actively expanding.

Corrections

If a reader spots unclear wording, stale guidance or a data issue, we review the source trail, update the page and keep the safer interpretation when evidence is mixed.

Medical limits

FurStage is educational software, not a veterinary clinic. Our pages can help you prepare questions and understand broad life-stage patterns, but they cannot diagnose, treat or replace your veterinarian.

Translation disclosure

English is the source edition. Other locales currently use machine-assisted translation with automated parity and terminology checks; they have not received native-speaker or veterinarian language review unless a page explicitly says so. Medical source links remain visible so readers can verify the underlying guidance.

For urgent symptoms such as trouble breathing, collapse, seizures, severe pain, heavy bleeding or repeated vomiting, contact a veterinarian or emergency clinic immediately.
